Help manage diabetes with the Diabetes Directory

Diabetes is a serious, costly, and increasingly common chronic disease that can cause devastating complications that often result in disability and death. Many of us know someone who has been diagnosed. Early detection, improved delivery of care, and better self-management are key strategies for preventing much of the burden of diabetes. Type 2 diabetes, formerly considered “adult onset” diabetes, is now being diagnosed more frequently among children and adolescents. This type of diabetes is linked to two modifiable risk factors: obesity and physical inactivity.

The Nevada Diabetes Association for Children and Adults has created the Nevada Diabetes Resource Directory of doctors in Nevada who specialize in diabetes care. Also included in the directory are a diabetes management schedule and other services available in Nevada. The directory is an excellent resource for patients recently diagnosed with diabetes. It is available to download in English and Spanish.
