Dr. Bungum earned a DrPH from the University of South Carolina in 1994. His research areas of interest include Epidemiology, Exercise Behavior, and Pedestrian Safety.He has published approximately 25 data-based manuscripts and numerous abstracts. His work has appeared in outlets such as The American Journal of Preventive Medicine, Pediatric Exercise Science and The Journal of Community Health. Researchers have cited his work approximately 100 times in the professional literature. His research findings have also been highlighted in national lay publications such as Reader’s Digest.Dr. Bungum currently serves the Epidemiology Section Editor for Research Quarterly for Exercise and Sport. He also serves on the editorial boards of The Journal of School Health and The American Journal of Health Behavior. In 2005 he initiated the Journal of the Nevada Public Health Association, an online publication and continues to serve as its editor. He is a former president of the Nevada Public Health Association. He is a Research Fellow of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD) and he will deliver the AAHPERD Southwest District Scholar Lecture at their annual conference to be held in Hawaii during June of 2008.
